Our client has an immediate opening for part-time and/or full-time Senior Staff Accountant, Tax.
Reporting to Partners and Managers, you will be responsible for:
- Compliance review of tax returns for individuals, corporations, trusts, and partnerships, and the related foreign reporting requirements
- Participate in tax planning engagements and the preparation of technical tax memos
- Prepare instruction letters for the execution of corporate reorganizations, estate & post-mortem tax planning, business succession planning, and the purchase & sale of a business
- Conducting tax research and interpreting tax legislation and proposed legislative changes
- Providing technical expertise as an internal resource to staff who need tax support on their client files or on specific questions from their clients
- Preparing client correspondence, including; reports & analysis, discussion of technical issues and recommendations, and attending client meetings where appropriate
- Providing assistance to other offices of the Firm, as required, and collaborating with other service lines across the firm
The successful candidate will have:
- Graduate of a University Accounting Program, or equivalent
- Pursuing a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation
- 2 years of experience in a public accounting firm
- Willingness to enroll, or enrolled, in the CICA In-Depth Tax Course
- 2-3 years of work experience with Canadian Income Taxation
